Baluster Installation:
Install each baluster by first ensuring the base rail and the adjoining bases are level, secure, and correctly positioned. Apply a continuous bead of construction adhesive or epoxy into the pre‑drilled baluster sockets or fixing points on the base rail. Insert each baluster vertically into the base rail with its provided rio dowel , ensuring it seats fully and remains plumb. Once the lower connection is secure, apply adhesive to the corresponding upper fixing point or top rail socket and guide the baluster into position, maintaining straight alignment and equal spacing between each unit. Continue installing balusters sequentially, checking alignment visually and with a level to ensure a uniform, professional finish. Allow adhesive to cure fully before applying any load or installing adjoining components. baluster requirement for australian standards Maximum gap between balusters: 125 mm — a 125 mm sphere must not be able to pass through any opening.Minimum balustrade height (balconies, decks, landings): 1000 mm measured from finished floor level.
Post Installation Between Baluster Runs:
Install structural posts between baluster sections at intervals of approximately 2.5 to 3.5 metres, depending on design preference and required rigidity. Position the post at the designated location and ensure the footing or base plate is level and capable of supporting the load. Apply adhesive or fixings to the base connection, then stand the post upright and secure it mechanically using screws, bolts, or brackets appropriate to the system. Confirm the post is perfectly plumb in both directions before tightening fixings. Once secured, align the adjoining baluster runs to the post, ensuring the spacing, height, and visual line of the balusters remain consistent across the entire installation. Repeat this process for each post, maintaining uniform spacing and alignment to achieve a structurally sound and visually cohesive balustrade system
